Our SC/ST Committee has been established to safeguard the rights and well-being of SC/ST students in accordance with UGC, NCTE, NAAC, and Punjabi University regulations.
The committee actively works towards ensuring a discrimination-free educational environment and facilitating the social, academic, and economic upliftment of SC/ST students.
Objectives of the SC/ST Committee
- ✔ Promote Equal Opportunities: Ensure SC/ST students receive equal access to academic and extracurricular resources.
- ✔ Address Discrimination: Prevent and take action against any instances of caste-based bias or unfair treatment.
- ✔ Monitor Reservation Policies: Oversee the proper implementation of reservation policies in admissions, faculty recruitment, and scholarships.
- ✔ Provide Grievance Redressal: Offer a confidential and responsive mechanism for handling complaints related to discrimination or harassment.
- ✔ Raise Awareness: Educate students about government welfare schemes, scholarships, and legal protections available for SC/ST communities.
- ✔ Academic & Career Support: Conduct training sessions, career counseling, and mentorship programs for SC/ST students.
