Department of Agriculture

The College has introduced a course in agriculture science at graduation level i.e. B.Sc. Agriculture from the year 2014-15 . This four year  course -B.Sc. in Agriculture will produce professionally trained graduates who will be able to solve the problems of every  sector of Economy. The first two years of the course concentrates on enhancing  the knowledge and skills needed to manage a modern commercial farm. The next two years aim to expand the student’s business ,managerial, scientific and IT  skills

Our college develops a strong scientific foundation as well as gives learning about the management and integration of agricultural issues.

Agriculture is an emerging field in most of the foreign countries. Aspirants       in this field have great career scope abroad. They can get placed in various under takings there. They can work in a lot of work profiles in various ventures abroad. Most of the foreign countries are of great demand for B.Sc. in Agriculture graduates. They are paid very good salary packages as well. There are various short term and long term certification courses, which can be done so as to improve their overall job prospectus.

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture)

Duration: 4 years (8 Semesters)

A person who has scored at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST) of the aggregate marks in four compulsory subjects i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Mathematics, English taken together of 10+2 pattern or equivalent examination from recognized Board/University shall be eligible.


The curriculum is very broad and inter-disciplinary consisting of courses in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Extension education, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Food technology, Animal Husbandry apart from supporting courses in Basic Sciences, Humanities and Agricultural Engineering. The program also includes a compulsory one semester of internship (Rural Agricultural Work Experience). Most of the courses are infused with practicality with emphasis on 'hands on' experience and 'learning by doing'.

FIELD TRIPS: Field trips or excursion trips are organized to different places away from their normal environment with the purpose of observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities, such as going camping with teachers and their classmates. The aim of this research is to observe the subject in its natural state and possibly collect samples.

LABORATORY: The lab offers comprehensive analyses of soil, water, plant tissue, manure, compost, and other agricultural materials.
